<p>B & W Tunnelling was founded in October 1985 and has since established itself as one of the UK's leading specialist tunnelling contractors.</p> <p>In the early years B & W's reputation was gained from our vast experience of using traditional hand excavation techniques, excavating tunnels from 900mm to 2100mm diameter.</p> <p>In 1999 we decided to step into the 21st century and become mechanised, by 2002 we owned one of the largest fleets of mechanised pipejacking equipment in the UK.</p> <p>Our fleet comprises Akkerman TBM's; Backhoe Excavators; 48-inch Augerbore machines and Hard Rock Boring equipment. Today all of our contracts are undertaken by one of the above mechanised systems.
